I Love Almond Milk

Thursday, August 30, 2012

I have been making my own Almond Milk for years.  After discovering that store bought Almond Milk contains oil and other additives, I decided to do it myself.  I soak raw organic almonds over night, put 1 cup of almonds in the blender with 2 cups water, squeeze through a cheese cloth and you have a nice glass of Almond Milk!  If you don't like the taste, I always add Cinnamon, but you can add Dates, Honey, Agave, Vanilla or anything you like.  I make smoothies with it, or have a bowl of cereal, and it makes great Latte's. Fluff and Pampering

Tuesday, August 28, 2012

I just found an article by Sylvia Harrell of Sattva, who describes a massage as more than just "fluff and pampering", it clearly helps nervous system relaxation and stress reduction, and when we utilize and challenge our bodies we also need to rest them. I truly believe this and try to see my masseuse every two weeks.  Here are a few benefits of massage therapy:

Increased circulation (blood, oxygen, lymph, energy, nerve)
Increased recovery time from illness and injury
Improved muscle tone
Removal of metabolic waste and toxins
Improved posture and range of motion
Improved sleep patterns
Reduced pain and tension
